Mission, Vision, Values…
The Table Church is a faith community in the Thermalito/Oroville area. We started gathering in October of 2015. We started meeting in homes and then a restaurant until we were able to secure our first building in 2018. We outgrew that building in 2024 and still use it for Youth Group but have recently moved into our newest space we are currently in now.
Our MISSION is to be a community of people that do what Jesus did: Love God, Love one another, and Love the world.
Love God for us means gathering together to hear a practical message from the Bible with upbeat music and casual dress to encourage each other on this journey in the faith.
Love One Another in our church means being with and for one another in loving community. This looks like Table Groups (small groups) of people regularly getting together to hear a story from the life of Jesus and sharing our own life stories.
Love the World in our church means regular community service at the small group and whole church level. We do 'Service Sundays' on the months that have five Sundays. We forgo our usual worship service and get out in the community in a tangible way. We hope to be a healing and transformational presence in the community.
Mission: What We’re Doing
We want to be like a family moving into the neighborhood to be good and Godly neighbors. We want to see the transformational in-breaking of God’s kingdom in Thermalito, Oroville, Durham and beyond where people are growing in Jesus through discipleship, where chains of generational poverty are broken, where families are reconciled and where children have a hopeful future.
Vision: What We Want To See Happen
Values: How We Accomplish the Mission
We are a Community on Mission which means:
We are a Family on Mission Together
There are lots of models for church. For us, the best metaphor is family. That is what we are.
Incarnationally Community-Based
Just as Jesus took on flesh and lived among us, we want to serve our neighborhood.
Embodying the Kingdom of God
The church serves to show the lost what it means to live in God’s kingdom. It needs to be real for us.
Everyone is Welcome at The Table
Everyone means everyone. Yes, even them.
Empowering Everyone to Lead
Our tradition belives every person is empowered by God to bless others. This church is not “We can do it, you can help.” It’s “You can do it, we can help.”
Multiplying and Discipling
We’re not here to amass consumers, but to fruitfully multiply disciples of Jesus.
Below is a guide for how to get connected in the church community.
We focus on Sunday Morning, Small Groups and Service Projects in our community.
